Ajith's Veeram Shoot Completed
Ajith Kumar's
forthcoming movie Veeram shooting has come to an end. With this development,
the movie has moved a step further towards its release for Pongal.
Veeram shooting has been completed at a rapid
pace. The makers of the movie shot the flick as per their plans and this helped
the film to wrap up on time. It was also said that the team did not mess up
with dates due to Ajith Kumar's impending leg surgery.
The film is an action
thriller directed by Siva, who had earlier made Siruthai with Karthi. It is
said to be a masala entertainer with all the ingredients of success - love,
romance, action and comedy. The forthcoming movie is produced by Bharathi Reddy
under the banner Vijaya Productions.
Meanwhile, the movie
bosses are planning about the audio release of Veeram. Sources say that the
music would hit the stores on December 18. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the
music for the flick.
Veeram, which features
Tamanna Bhatia in the female lead role, will hit the screens for Pongal.
According to reports, the movie bosses have decided to release the film on
January 10. It will be clashing with Vijay's Jilla.

Ajith defies death!
Even in his latest
Veeram, we hear Ajith fought the baddies atop a moving train. A source reveals,
"This sequence was shot in Orissa, and has Ajith fighting inside a train,
and on top of it! There's a particular sequence in which he is pushed out of a
moving train; he hangs from a bar as the train crosses a bridge. This is one of
the several scenes that have been shot using helicams."
Mankatha
This sequence in which
Ajith does a wheelie with Mahath in the pillion, leaps on to a moving van from
his superbike and hangs from under the van, received the loudest claps in the
theatres. The fact that the actor is a biker in real life seems to have helped
him perfect this scene.
Billa II
Move over bikes and
vans, the makers have chosen a chopper for Ajith this time. With two drool-worthy
actors, Ajith and Vidyut, fighting it out in a flying helicopter and namma
Thala hanging for his dear life, quite literally, had us on the edge of our
seats.
Arrambam
There's a lot of action
in Ajith's latest film. But we dig this scene in which the actor forces the
door of the police van open and jumps out in full speed, stunning every cop,
the crew, and us.

Ajith makes the first move
While Ajith's Veeram has been confirmed for a Pongal release on January 10., the film has already started to make business with Rama Narayanan's 'Thenandal Films' acquiring NSC and Chennai area distribution rights of 'Veeram' for a whopping amount. The shoot of the film is almost over and post-production work has started in full swing.
Veeram starring Ajith
and Tamanna in the lead roles is directed by Siruthai Siva. The shooting of the
film is progressing at a brisk pace and is expected to be wrapped soon. The
producers want the first copy ready by December end, so that censor can take
place in the first week of the New Year.
Produced by Vijaya
Productions, Veeram also includes Santhanam, Ramesh Khanna, Vidharth, Bala,
Munish, Devadarshini, Vidyullekha Raman, Suhail Chandhok and Pradeep Rawat in
key roles. With Vijay's Jilla also touted to hit the screens for Pongal, it is
more or less confirmed that it will be a Vijay (Jilla) versus Ajith (Veeram)
clash for Pongal of 2014.

Ajith Raises The Bar Again
It was an helicopter
scene in Billa and a car chasing scene in Arrambam that showed Ajith Kumar's
desire to perform action sequences on his own without using body double. Now,
he seems to have raised the bar as in his latest movie Veeram, he has done a
stunt sequence on a train.
Director Siruthai Siva
has spilled the beans over the action sequence in forthcoming Arrambam. The
filmmaker himself was tensed when Ajith Kumar performed the stunt sequence.
Even though he knew that Thala was pushing his limits, the director couldn't
stop because the actor was eager on doing the action scene on his own.
It was a two-minute
scene where Ajith Kumar was flirting with danger. Ajith Kumar also told Siva
not to change his concept of filming the scene just because he was performing.
Siruthai Siva says that such scenes would give shivers to action directors too,
but the Mankatha actor confidently performed it.
On the other end, Ajith
Kumar, who injured his right leg during the shooting of his last release
Arrambam, will be undergoing a surgery soon.
Veeram also features
Tamanna Bhatia, Santhanam and others in the cast. It will hit the screens in
January and the audio of the flick will hit the stores in December.
Kochadaiiyaan Out Of Pongal Race, Veeram-Jilla To Clash?
Kochadaiiyaan's release
news left the traders unsettled last week. It made the traders to imagine the
chaotic situation in Kollywood for Pongal with the Rajinikanth's movie
competing with other biggies like Ajith Kumar's Veeram and Vijay's Jilla.
The producers of Veeram and Jilla, which had
been billed as the Pongal treat a long ago, were unhappy with the latest
development as they wanted good number of screens for their movies. The sudden
entry of Rajini's movie was not welcomed by them.
But without showing any
sign of fear over Kochadaiiyaan release, they decided to reconfirm their
releases for Pongal by giving ads on papers. As traders and audience started
anticipating the clash, here comes a surprising news again.
The buzz says that Kochadaiiyaan has backed
out of the Pongal race. Reading the situation, the makers of the Rajinikanth
film have now decided to postpone the release of the forthcoming mega-budget
movie. Indeed, it has now cleared the way for the clash of Veeram and Jilla at
Tamil Box Office for pongal.
Sources say that the
makers of Kochadaiiyaan wanted to avoid the clash of three big movies. They
know that it will not help any movie even though the Rajinikanth's movie would
get maximum screens for its release. Hence, the release date of the Tamil flick
has been pushed.

Director's Fear, Ajith's Dare
Most often, directors conceive a concept which they convince the actor to take up and perform. But it is very rare to find an actor who is understanding of the director's requirements and volunteers to perform; and that too, when the director himself is wary of. We are talking about director Siva's Ajith starrer upcoming 'Veeram'. As reported earlier, the train fight sequence is a head turner in the movie, and is highly risky. Shot in Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border, the film involved very high levels of risk and the Siva claims that this was the only scene in his entire career, which he hesitated to shoot, owing to the lack of precautions, given the location of shoot.
Speaking on the episode, Siva says "It is one of the most daring stunts I have ever shot. It was so risky that I was not prepared to go for the shoot. But Ajith insisted that he will take the scene forward perform the stunt. He is certainly one of the most daring and dedicated actors. But he seldom believes in heroism and follows the script and goes to any extent that it demands."
Ajith in a romantic mood
The last two releases
of Ajith may not have had much of romance it, courtesy the star's bad boy role,
but it looks like Veeram will come as a whiff of fresh air for his fans. The
last time the actor actually shook a leg was for Mankatha in which he had a few
duet numbers with Trisha.
In Veeram, the actor
has a duet with Tamannaah and if a recent poster is to go by, the song was shot
in Switzerland. So, it looks like Ajith's fans might have a reason to look
forward to this Pongal, to see their Thala in a romantic mood.

Manjrekar and Atul Kulkarni. Telugu actor Rana Daggubati has played a cameo in

The dubbed Telugu version of Ajith’s super hit Deepavali flick Arrambam has been titled Aata Arambham and the release date of the movie has been confirmed recently as December 6.

Tapsee playing essential roles. Music for Arrambam is composed by Yuvan Shankar
Raja, whereas cinematography is handled by Om Prakash.
Arrambam is directed by
Vishnuvardhan and Ajith-Vishnuvardhan combination has worked well in this film
like the magic created in their earlier film ‘Billa’.
This action entertainer
had all commercial ingredients to impress the audiences. Released in theatres
on October 31, Arrambam has received an overwhelming response at the domestic
box office as well as in the overseas circuits.
Dr. G Srinu Babu, who
has produced ‘Chandi’ is dubbing Arrambam in Telugu on his Omix Creations
banner and has titled as ‘Aata Arambham’.

released on 6th December. He added the film’s cast is a fantastic line-up and
it is a huge commercial entertainer, assuring that Aata Arambham will also be
received well by the Telugu audiences much the same way as the Tamil film was
done.
Screening Ajith’s Aata
Arambham seems to have many advantages. Ajith has a huge fan following in
Andhra Pradesh. The Telugu version of his films Billa and Mankatha were big
hits in the state. The film’s female leads Nayanthara and Taapsee Pannu also
have a huge fan following in the state. The list does not end there. The
director of the film Vishnuvardhan and the composer of the film Yuvan Shankar
Raja too have given big hits in Andhra Pradesh.

Aamir Khan Should Pave Way For Ajith Kumar In Dhoom 4
Bollywood star Aamir
Khan's stylish movie Dhoom 3 is heading towards a massive release worldwide in
December. With the third instalment from the Dhoom franchise getting ready to
hit the screens, speculations and talks have already begun on its next movie in
the series. Well, the buzz in the Tollywood has put Ajith Kumar to step into

There are many reasons
for them to suggest Ajith Kumar's name. The actor is a passionate biker and
avid car racer. Thala has participated in Formula One and also he has a pilot
license. All these factors make him a favourite name for the Dhoom 4, which is
about style, race and action.
Not to forget, the lead
star will be projected in grey shades in Dhoom franchise and Ajith Kumar has
delivered a couple of hits in negative role.

Shahrukh Khan loves Ajith's Arrambam
Bollywood Baadshah
Shahrukh Khan who is currently shooting for his upcoming flick 'Happy New Year'
caught up with director Vishnuvardhan who was the associate of Santosh Sivan
while Shahrukh was doing 'Ashoka' in 2001 which also had Ajith doing a small
role in the film. The Bollywood star spent some time with the director
remebering the 'Asoka' days and also mentioned that he had loved the trailer of
Ajith starrer 'Arrambam' though he hasnt watched the film yet.
Director Vishnuvardhan
tweeted after meeting the star "Met up with SRK, loved catching up and
remembering 'Asoka' days. He loved the 'Arrambam' trailer. Cheers guys."
While a lot of '
Arrambam' was shot in Mumbai, the director was often seen in Mumbai. With the movie
released and running successfully in the theatres, one wonders why
Vishnuvardhan is still visiting Mumbai often. Is the director's next a
bollywood flick with a top star?

Ajith-Gautham Menon's Film to Commence on 15 February
Director Gautham
Vasudev Menon has confirmed that his new film with Ajith is all set to go on
floors on 15 February. Gautham is currently working with Silambarasan (aka STR)
for an untitled flick that is expected to get wrapped up in three months. He
will commence his project with Ajith in February.
Confirming the news,
Gautham tweeted, "Very happy to be back at shoot after almost a year of
waiting. STR now (day and night) and looking forward to AJITH sir from february
15th."
Last month, it was
confirmed that Ajith and Gautham will team up for a film in 2014. The director
has now finally come out with a fixed date (15 November) to begin the film.
Ajith is currently busy
with his upcoming film "Veeram", which is confirmed for a Pongal
release. A small portion of the film is yet to be shot, but post-production
work has already begun in full swing. The film will release in January,
following which Ajith will commence shooting for the yet-to-be-titled flick with
Gautham.
This is the first time that the actor-director duo is teaming up for a film. They had planned to work together a few years ago, but their plans did not materialise.Gautham was supposed to do a film with Suriya this year. The duo had announced the project, but it did not take off as Suriya opted out of the film saying he did not get the complete script of the subject despite waiting for over a year. The actor had signed up for two films - one with Lingusamy and the other with Gautham. Since he walked out of Gautham's film, he now has only Lingu's project in hand.
Ajith's 'Veeram' Officially Confirmed for Pongal Release, Set to Clash with 'Jilla' and 'Kochadaiiyaan'
The makers of Ajith's
"Veeram" have confirmed that the film will hit screens during the
Pongal festival. However, an exact release date has not yet been revealed. It
is likely to release on 10th October, a few days ahead of the harvest festival.
Vijaya Productions,
producers of the film, have assured that the Ajith starrer will be a real treat
for fans. Ajith will don a rusty look in the film, which audiences haven't seen
in the past few years. "Thala" (Ajith is fondly referred by this
name) has been doing stylish roles since "Billa" released in 2007.
His traditional attire combined with his trademark salt and pepper hair gives
him the typical mass hero look in "Veeram".
Ajith is reportedly
playing a lively character in "Veeram" that is sure to impress his
fans. The film's shooting is expected to be completed in a few days. The makers
have already begun the post-production work, in order to release the film on
the scheduled date.
Directed by
"Siruthai" Siva, "Veeram" has an ensemble star cast
including Tamannah, Santhanam, Bala, Vidharth, Munish, Suhail, Ramesh Khanna,
Appukutty, Nadodigal Abhinaya, Devadharshini, Vidhyulekha Raman and Pradeep
Rawat among others. The film's technical crew includes Vetry (Cinematographer),
Milan (Art director), Kasi Viswanathan (Editor), Selva (Stunt master), Dinesh
(Choreographer) and Devi Sri Prasad (Music).
Expectations for
"Veeram" are sky high thanks to Ajith's star power and the film's
mass teaser . His recently-released film "Arrambam" has been doing
fantastic business at the box office. The film gave Ajith his best ever
opening. This has raised the expectations for "Veeram". It remains to
be seen if the Siva directorial will turn to be another hit in Ajith's career.
The action entertainer
will not have a solo release and is likely to face strong competition from
other biggies. Vijay's "Jilla" is expected to release during the
Pongal festival period. A few days ago, "Kochadaiiyaan" co-producer
confirmed that the Rajinikanth starrer is gearing up for a 10 January release.
With three big releases, there will be a huge battle for screens. But it will
be a real treat for cinema lovers to see their favourite stars taking on each
other at the box office.
Ajith Sports Rustic Look In Veeram
Happy days for Ajith
Kumar fans seems to be continuing as his next movie will appear before them in
a gap of just 50 days! It means the celebration that started with Arrambam will
follow for two more months. Well, his next movie will hit the screens for Pongal
and it has officially been confirmed by the movie bosses of Veeram.
To clear the rumours
over the release of Veeram, the movie bosses released an ad in which they have
announced the release date. Interestingly, Ajith Kumar's new look is disclosed
in the poster. Thala will be seen in rustic look in the forthcoming Tamil
movie. His slightly scruffy beard (like Hollywood actor George Clooney's beard)
has been appreciated by his fans.
The production house
press release claims that Ajith Kumar has played a very lively character, which
would capture the imagination of his fans. The shooting of the movie will be
concluded in the next few days.
Veeram is jointly
produced by Venkatrama Reddy and Bharathi Reddy under the banner Vijaya
Productions. Bhoopathi Raja has penned the story and Bharathan has written the
dialogues for the Siva directorial flick.
Tamanna Bhatia has
played the female lead role and Santhanam, Vidharth, Bala and others are in the
cast. Vetri is the cinematographer, Milan is the art director, Kasi
Vishwanathan is the editor, Selva is the stunt master and Dinesh has
choreographed the songs.

Director Vishnuvardhan is a happy man after the success of Ajith starrer Arrambam at the box office. The film starring Ajith, Nayanthara, Arya, Taapsee and Rana in important roles seems have been appreciated by the fans and also by none other than Thala Ajith himself.

his happiness in his social media page tweeting "Thank you all for your

with a smile. Thala always believed in me. That's a lot of pressure to stand up
to. Thanks to the whole cast and crew for making it a blockbuster."
The film enters its
third week today and is firmly holding fort across many screens in the state.
Ajith is also set to join the 100 crores club for worldwide collections.
Rajinikanth-Kamal clash against Ajith-Vijay
While Thala Ajith's 'Veeram' and
Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 'Jilla'
have been confirmed to lock horns at the box office during Pongal 2014,
looks like Kamal Haasan's magnum opus 'Vishwaroopam 2' and Rajinikanth long
awaited 'Kochadaiiyaan' will clash with the junior stars.
Both Kamal and
Rajinikanth's film were supposed to hit the screen in November and December
this year respectively, but have now been pushed to 2014. Both the legendary
actor would like to cache in on the festive season of Pongal and take on Ajith
and Vijay, or perhaps opt to give them a breather and clash against each other
with a Republic Day release.

and Malaysia. Particularly in Malaysia, "Arrambam" has done great
business as against new releases in Tamil and other languages. The country is
one of the key markets for Tamil films and most of the films that have big
stars perform well at the box office.
"Arrambam"

continued to stay in the top 5 list of films at the Malaysian box office in its
second weekend as well. However, details about the film's second weekend
collections are yet to be available.
The film is also
performing well in Tamil Nadu and other Indian states. "Arrambam"
rules the Chennai box office reportedly earning around ₹8 crore. The business
of "Arrambam" is steady in Karnataka, while other Tamil releases have
failed to create an impact.
The film's overall
collections are pegged at over ₹53
crore. With the increase in the film's screen count, the mass entertainer is
likely to cross the ₹100
crore mark soon.
