Ajith Raises The Bar Again

It was an helicopter scene in Billa and a car chasing scene in Arrambam that showed Ajith Kumar's desire to perform action sequences on his own without using body double. Now, he seems to have raised the bar as in his latest movie Veeram, he has done a stunt sequence on a train.

Director Siruthai Siva has spilled the beans over the action sequence in forthcoming Arrambam. The filmmaker himself was tensed when Ajith Kumar performed the stunt sequence. Even though he knew that Thala was pushing his limits, the director couldn't stop because the actor was eager on doing the action scene on his own.

It was a two-minute scene where Ajith Kumar was flirting with danger. Ajith Kumar also told Siva not to change his concept of filming the scene just because he was performing. Siruthai Siva says that such scenes would give shivers to action directors too, but the Mankatha actor confidently performed it.

On the other end, Ajith Kumar, who injured his right leg during the shooting of his last release Arrambam, will be undergoing a surgery soon.

Veeram also features Tamanna Bhatia, Santhanam and others in the cast. It will hit the screens in January and the audio of the flick will hit the stores in December.

Kochadaiiyaan Out Of Pongal Race, Veeram-Jilla To Clash?

Kochadaiiyaan's release news left the traders unsettled last week. It made the traders to imagine the chaotic situation in Kollywood for Pongal with the Rajinikanth's movie competing with other biggies like Ajith Kumar's Veeram and Vijay's Jilla.

The producers of Veeram and Jilla, which had been billed as the Pongal treat a long ago, were unhappy with the latest development as they wanted good number of screens for their movies. The sudden entry of Rajini's movie was not welcomed by them.

But without showing any sign of fear over Kochadaiiyaan release, they decided to reconfirm their releases for Pongal by giving ads on papers. As traders and audience started anticipating the clash, here comes a surprising news again.

The buzz says that Kochadaiiyaan has backed out of the Pongal race. Reading the situation, the makers of the Rajinikanth film have now decided to postpone the release of the forthcoming mega-budget movie. Indeed, it has now cleared the way for the clash of  Veeram and Jilla at Tamil Box Office for pongal.

Sources say that the makers of Kochadaiiyaan wanted to avoid the clash of three big movies. They know that it will not help any movie even though the Rajinikanth's movie would get maximum screens for its release. Hence, the release date of the Tamil flick has been pushed.

Director's Fear, Ajith's Dare

Most often, directors conceive a concept which they convince the actor to take up and perform. But it is very rare to find an actor who is understanding of the director's requirements and volunteers to perform; and that too, when the director himself is wary of. We are talking about director Siva's Ajith starrer upcoming 'Veeram'. As reported earlier, the train fight sequence is a head turner in the movie, and is highly risky. Shot in Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border, the film involved very high levels of risk and the Siva claims that this was the only scene in his entire career, which he hesitated to shoot, owing to the lack of precautions, given the location of shoot.

Speaking on the episode, Siva says "It is one of the most daring stunts I have ever shot. It was so risky that I was not prepared to go for the shoot. But Ajith insisted that he will take the scene forward perform the stunt. He is certainly one of the most daring and dedicated actors. But he seldom believes in heroism and follows the script and goes to any extent that it demands."

Ajith in a romantic mood

The last two releases of Ajith may not have had much of romance it, courtesy the star's bad boy role, but it looks like Veeram will come as a whiff of fresh air for his fans. The last time the actor actually shook a leg was for Mankatha in which he had a few duet numbers with Trisha.

In Veeram, the actor has a duet with Tamannaah and if a recent poster is to go by, the song was shot in Switzerland. So, it looks like Ajith's fans might have a reason to look forward to this Pongal, to see their Thala in a romantic mood.
